“He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
As finals near, I know that many of us are thinking “If only I can get past these next few weeks, then everything will be great.” I am not sure why our hearts always gravitate towards that thinking because there is always something ahead of us that requires our attention. When I find myself thinking like this, I am reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:11 and how God has placed a longing for “eternity in our hearts.” We long for what we can’t obtain here on earth. We long for all the wrong in our lives and in the world to put made right. Thankfully the Scriptures are clear in what is not yet here, but will one day be.
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
Until that day when all things are made right, we continue to toil joyfully in the work that God has for us now. For each of you, the work in front of you is finishing the semester well as a leader in BYX and honoring the Lord in your studies. Finish well brothers!
